Book your photographer in advance.

Select a date (and raincheck date).
You may need to reserve or book your locations or vendors for your surprise proposal. Set your date in advance so we can be sure all the parts are in place. If you have an outdoor proposal, check the weather about a week before and have an alternate date planned in case of bad weather.
Secure the ring.
It may sound silly, but don’t forget the ring! You’ll have a lot on your mind, and it’s not unheard of for the person proposing to forget the ring! An engagement ring shows your commitment to your partner. It is a symbol of your love that will last a lifetime. Be sure to put it in a safe place so you don’t lose it and they don’t find it! For example, if you propose near the river or lake, you may not want to put the ring in your pocket because it could tragically fall in!
Get excited.
Your marriage proposal is one of the most important days of your lives as a couple—a new beginning! Try not to stress too much over the details, and enjoy the moment. Preparations are helpful!
